Styling 101: styling an entryway
Today I’m sharing my tips for styling an Entryway. First, think about the foundational pieces.
The console table or bench you want to place there….then up above that, will you add a mirror, or a piece of art or both.
Once you have those foundational items in place, here are my tips for styling with them, for on the table top and below it, all will depend on the function for this space. If you decide to place a long bench that’s great, you can still use my tips. I am sharing a visual of ME styling an entryway from my latest project for Little Rock Lane. Head to my Instagram page here to view it. HERE ARE MY TIPS below….
TIP 1- Function/purpose.…decide what the function is for your entryway, for this project they did not have a mudroom as they enter the house from the front door. So I made sure to add in a spot for taking off their shoes and a place to store them. Placed a bench/stool below the table as well a basket for them to hide the shoes. Made it both pretty and functional.
Tip 2- Create Contrast with color and the height of your objects. I used a black iron table, with a round gold mirror, then on the table top created more contrast with the white and black vase as well as varied the height of the objects to create balance. It also adds in warmth with the basket, gold mirror, and wood arches.
Tip 3- Add in Texture with the different objects, as well as layers of metal/color. The creamy white bench is a textured fabric with a wicker basket. Both add texture as well I add in more texture with the layers of objects plus the mixed metal and colors.
