Week 3: One Room Challenge

This week for my one room challenge has been focused on 3 key details. First, I have been finalizing the concrete/countertop sink style. I think I am going to go with a trough style sink with the drain towards the back center. We also had to do the spatial planning for the height of the vanity and make the template for the sink so they can get that into production. Lots of questions had to be figured out in order to finalize the sink and vanity. Like the final height, how big will the sink be? 2 foot wide or 3 feet wide, what type of faucet will I have for the sink? and what color concrete do I want?? Details are fun but can get overwhelming.

Second, I also spoke with my cabinet friend yesterday who is going to make the custom vanity. It will be almost identical to the one on my moodboard, but I am going to change it up just a little bit. I need to pick the type of wood. I know I want it lighter wood. But I need to finalize the exact one this weekend.

Third, the plumber was here today and we chatted details for the sink plumbing + shower plumbing. Our Shower originally had a tub shower as we thought we may want that, but we ended up ripping out the tub and making it a standing shower…well the previous plumber when it was ripped out, did not fix the drain correctly. So monday our new plumber will be back to plumb in the sink in the right spot + put in a new drain for the shower. Next week I hope to have some visual progress as tile will be arriving. Yipee!!!! Here’s a few images of my visit to the concrete countertop shop…White Stone Imports. Have a great weekend friends.
