Week 4: One Room Challenge

Week 4: One Room Challenge. This week our Riad Tile arrived and we set the template for the concrete countertop sink being made by White Stone Concrete. Next week we should have some real progress to show as we are planning to lay the tile floor. Our faucet and shower fixtures have been ordered and may set things back a day or two as the plumber will need to install the valves before the tile is laid in the shower and backsplash, so now we wait for them to arrive first. I’m crossing my fingers we get them within the week. It’s crazy to think in two weeks this will be all done!!

Here are a few images of prepping for the countertop template, this part was very stressful, as we had to get it exact exact! Notice that crack in the concrete floor too. Hopefully we can get that mostly level when we lay the backer board next week. As well see the Maya Riad Tile, we laid out the pattern I think we will plan for…. It’s not even laid yet and I already know it will be my favorite!! Cement tile is very delicate, I had no idea, we will have to be very careful in each stage. It certainly won’t be perfect but I know it will still look good. If you have laid cement tile before, I’d love to hear any tips below!! thanks!
